E3M is a member of the partnership social enterprise, the Public Service Transformation Academy (PSTA), which was established in 2016 to run the Government’s Commissioning Academy Programme, and is led by Red Quadrant and the Whitehall and Industry Group. The PSTA’s mission is to drive better outcomes for people and communities by developing the local, civil, social and health sectors’ capabilities to collaborate, innovate and lead. To do this, it designs and delivers exceptional development programmes to build capacity to transform public services, including the flagship Commissioning Academy. Our aim in being involved is to bring the thought leadership, knowledge, learning and expertise of our two membership networks (the E3M Social Enterprise Leaders and Bold Commissioners), as well as our partners, to support the PSTA in its mission. We want to help those in the public sector deal with the ever more complex challenges that face us today, and we believe that pioneering social enterprises and Bold Commissioners working together can find new solutions to meet these challenges. Jonathan Bland sits as a director on the Board of the PSTA and has a special role within it, supporting the development of the Commissioning Academy Alumni Network. He also helped with the design and delivery of the PSTA’s first landmark conference on Public Service Transformation, which took place in May 2018.
