In addition, Six Degrees provides the Salford Bereavement Therapy Service (SBTS) offering specialist talking therapies to individuals experiencing grief, including perinatal loss, suicide-related bereavement, and other traumatic forms of loss. This is offered to those who reside in Salford. As a key partner in the Salford Mental Health Neighbourhood Team (formerly Salford Living Well), Six Degrees contributes specialist psychological expertise to the community-based model of care. Its psychological therapists enhance the team by providing psychological insight including clinical supervision, joint assessments, collaborative clinical support, risk management, and direct group work. She has held a variety of roles in the field of mental health within and outside the organisation. Kelly joined Six Degrees when it was the Salford Primary Care Mental Health Team in 2009 as a Gateway Worker before Six Degrees’ inception in 2011. Originally trained as a Psychiatric Nurse, Kelly holds a Nursing Diploma (RMN), a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychotherapeutic CBT Interventions, a Masters in Consulting and Leading in Organisations and she is a qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. She has a deep-rooted commitment to improving access to mental health provision in primary care, and improving staff conditions when working in emotionally demanding yet rewarding environments. Kelly’s leadership style is grounded in systemic and strategic thinking. Under her guidance, Six Degrees has grown into a responsive, multi-disciplinary team delivering vital mental health and bereavement support across Greater Manchester.
